Barossa Valley Shiraz

First impression: Ribena all the way - blackcurrant cordial nose, palette, and finish. After 3 hope hours, nose gives way to some black pepper, and overall the typical (hoped for?) Shiraz properties come in... cheap, and behaves accordingly.

Ripe black cherries and black olives covered in new shoe leather, vanilla bean, milk chocolate, sweet tobacco, and Eucalyptus. Signature Barossa style with cool herbal notes. Vintage is sitting pretty right now. No need to wait. Acidity is at a good place and tannins give a supple pull on the palate. Cheers!

Nope. Not flawed, just not for me.

Disappointing when compared to other vintages

2011. Good! Leather on the nose and smooth on the mouth.

Burnt ends, dark fruits. Long finish. Interesting finish. Seems to have a syrupy molasses thing going on but not cloyingly sweet.
