Lots of earth and smoke in this wine. By smoke I don't mean tainted by smoke, but it has a lot of gray notes in the tannins. Makes me think of autumn leaves in New England after they've been raked into a pile. The only fruit in this wine is some high notes of apple cider over the earthy scent of drying oak leaves. I really like this wine!
