La Cala Vermentino di Sardegna

New one for us but was introduced to Vermentino this summer and love the refreshing citrus notes that go so well with seafood. Liked this bottle.

Not quite as nice as the 2018, which we both enjoyed very much. Too much of a mineral scent (as well as a slight taste), and not as crisp. Not unpleasant, but nothing exceptional.

Lovely wine. Don’t see this grape often on restaurant menus, but this place is special.

Really like this wine! Little sweet, some oak, a little buttery- but not off putting like California Chardonnay. Crisp, very drinkable.

Had at ‘Italy After Hours’ Tasting

Apple and pear. A touch harsh. 13.85 Saks

Dry good summer wine. Not acidic and no aftertaste

Pineapple, apple, peach with tropical fruit notes. Nice roundness with controlled acidity. Great warm weather drinking white.

Nice crisp white. Drinkable without the aftertaste I get from Chardonnay and pino Grigio

Fresh green apples.
