Nice light and fruity red wine, good at its low price point. There is a little rustic roughness in this wine, but it is still an enjoyable cheap wine.

Yet another wonderful Sardinian choice. I prefer cannonau but this carignano has blackberry notes with a smokiness. Went well with lasagna. 14.5% alc by vol. $13 at my local shop.

2014 version is fantastic with nuances of oak and enough spice to make it interesting. Drank it with grilled lamb. Very refined. One of the best wines I’ve had from Sardinia

Dark fruits with medium acidity. Held up well against Italian food (some of the best meatballs I’ve ever had! And pasta dishes with ragu of beef and chicken). A happy compromise for my love of bright acidic reds and B’s desire for a weighty Cab
