Chianti classico, on the fuller bodied side for the type, and with a lot of wood, masking some of the more delicate flavors you'd expect. Still a solid buy

May 30th, 2020Given my personal strong preference for nebbiolo, it’s quite rare to have a chianti. Even though this is 15% on the label, it doesn’t quite taste it - managed to stay quite balanced. Definitely recommend a 30+ minute decant for this one. Lots of red spicy fruit on the nose and palate, medium bodied, medium tannins, medium acid but with a good refreshing finish. Great with some tagliatelle Bolognese.
