Estate Grown Mt. George Vineyard Malbec
2012. I've been waylaid too many times by malbecs that are flabby, insipid, and short. As a result I reflexively reach for something else. Tonight I resisted that impulse and I'm glad I did. This wine opens with a nose of bright red fruit and spice. In the mouth it is loaded with refreshing acid. After a bit it settles into a darker, more savory profile. Shows great balance, with its 14.3% abv perfectly integrated. Paired beautifully tonight with our spicy tri-tip. Delicious.
