Perfectly drinkable right now. Big, bold full bodied.l Sangiovese. A real treat in these cold Palo Alto winter nights ! — 5 months ago
This is a well balanced cab that punches way above its $20 price point. Notes of red fruit and leather, medium tannins and a clean finish. Decant it for a better swig — 9 months ago

“There are roughly 600 cases of the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Materium, all of which comes from the Weitz Vineyard on the eastern Vaca Mountain hillside of Oakville at an elevation of about 1,000 feet above the Silverado Trail. This is shallow soil interspersed with loads of pebbles and stones. This wine is incredible first-growth material – a magical Cabernet Sauvignon with an opaque purple color, an extraordinary nose of blackberry and cassis, white flowers, crushed rock and minerality followed by a full-bodied majestic mouthfeel with phenomenal balance, purity and overall equilibrium. Stunningly rich and impressive, this wine will hit its peak in 8-10 years and has the potential to last 40-50 years. For those who keep track of such things, the wine was completely aged in 100% new Darnajou and Taransaud barrels.” (RP) (10/2015)

Paul T, Missing My Beautiful Wife 24/7
Drinking my kind of juice👍🏼I’ve not had a Regusci in awhile. 2011 was certainly not one of Napa’s best vintages. However, this 11 while not the best Estate bottle I’ve had from them, is just drinking really well. It might have something to do with the fact I coravined it six months ago and laid it back down in my EuroCave. It likely advanced it some. I am more & more not sold on the longterm storage (9yrs) of a coravined bottle.
On the nose, nice soft dark spice, beautiful baking spices; round full vanilla, cinnamon, clove & nutmeg. Ripe, slightly stewed; blackberries, dark cherries, black plum, black raspberries with a hint of ripe cherries & strawberries. Dark moist, soils, dry crush limestone, used leather, hints of eucalyptus/mint, tree sap, light roasted used coffee grounds with dark fresh & withering flowers.
The body is round & full. The tannins are round, velvety and about 60% resolved. The length is nice, structure not what you expect from this producer & Napa but, the balance is lovely. The fruits are ripe with no baked quality as the nose. Blackberries, dark cherries, black spiced plum, blueberries, black raspberries, creamy raspberries and more cherries & strawberries than the nose. Mixed berry cola. nice soft dark spice, beautiful, layered baking spices; round full vanilla, cinnamon, clove & nutmeg. Mocha chocolate powder, caramel, dark moist, soils, dry crush limestone, volcanic minerals, used leather, hints of eucalyptus/mint, tree sap, light roasted used coffee grounds with dark fresh & withering flowers. The acidity flows like a river. The medium finish is; rich, ripe, well balanced and lasts a minute plus.
If I hadn’t coravined this bottle, I’d tell you to drink in the next 3-5 years. However, I think it’s got another 7-8 years of good drinking ahead. Properly stored of course.
Photos of, the long view from the Silverado Trail, their tasting bar & picnic area. If you make a midday appointment, reserve a picnic table and bring lunch to enjoy after your tasting. It’s a great spot with excellent views and ambiance. Last but not least, their (buy on the honor system) fruit & vegetable cart during the right time of the year. You see, the Regusci Family were farmers long before they got into the winemaking business.

Epitome of a Napa Cabernet Sauvignon. Lots of vanilla and dark stone fruit with an oak finish. Silky tannins , low acidity and high alcohol. — 4 months ago
Good balance between malic acid and non oak wine. Honey and pear notes. — 6 months ago
Aromas and flavors of ripe peach, lime, melon, and touches of starfruit and passion fruit. Surprisingly round texture given this wine only sees 4 months of cooperage in 95% stainless steel and 5% neutral French oak. Just slight hint of sweetness on the crisp finish.
Very good value considering the source of the fruits. Paired really well with spicy Indian foods. — a year ago
This wine was perfect. Absolutely perfect. — 5 years ago
huge and peppery. amazing — 6 years ago
Grapefruit, lemon candy, apricot, apple, slate and blood orange. Electric acidity and great minerality. — 7 years ago
Fern leaves, coffee grounds, touch of fruit skin on the nose. Surprisingly cloudy and hazy in the glass. Rustic flavors galore...sour and Rainier cherries, wet stone, and almost Napa-like dust in the finish. Tastes hotter than its 13.8% abv and absolutely comes alive with fat and salt. This is the frame-off restored '77 two-tone Silverado of your dreams, in a bottle. — 7 years ago
Sourced from the home Silverado vineyard in Stags Leap and Mt George vineyard in Coombsville, this is a young and energetic Bordeaux blend with 88% Cab.
Nose shows ripe black fruits, cedar, subtle baking spices, and hint of graphite. Full body with fresh acidity. The fruits are a bit angular on the palate with fine tannins. Needs a bit more time to polish up. Good value for an estate bottling. — 4 months ago
It’s been a while since I’ve rated or ranked anything. Pulled this out of the cellar and it is absolutely incredible!!!! 2011 vintage. — 8 months ago
Okay my friends. I have finally released my own wine! This rating is for Dr Todd Vineyards cabernet sauvignon from Herron Family Wines. I had to put Papillon in the pic to get this spot. Ive been working on this since 2014!!!!! It is finally ready. Of coarse it is opaque in color. The legs are thick and slow to fall. The bouquet is my favorite blackberry pie fresh out of the oven with a hint of black licorice. The initial palate is exploding with dark fruit: blackberry, black current, dark cherries. The mid palate is exactly what I hoped for, chocolate and spice with a splash of oak! The finish is very long with minimal tannins and moderate dryness. I am very proud if this wine. I want to thank my growers in NAPA. I blended two vines of 100% cabernet , one from Oakville and one from the Silverado trail area near lake Hennessey. We aged it three years in American Oak. I am so proud of my team!!!!! Thank you my Herron Family Wine Crew! This is an awesome cabernet sauvignon. Next is a pinot noir... stay tuned... — 7 years ago
