Sine Qua Non
Li'l E Grenache
A contribution from the raconteur @Shawn R and the label is a photo of him from his youthful confused stage. This was banging. I immediately recalled the SQN Incognito when I sat with this for a while. Very dark in the glass for a Grenache, subtle pepper, crimson cherry, kirsch. So sumptuous and voluptuous....and I loooove voluptuous.

Nov 15th, 2017Rich and polished - just like @Shawn R who graciously shared this gem - an absolute killer wine.

Nov 12th, 2017Even better than the last bottle all because of who it was shared with. So bright and fresh...seems to be in a good spot right not.

Nov 12th, 2017Such an opulent wine with the tannins nearly completed integrated. Spice cake, white pepper, lavender/crushed flowers and sweet kirsch on the nose. The best purity in a wine that I've had. Rich texture yet so balanced, it brings striking crushed black cherries, forest floor and red licorice. The finish shows the best side of the Grenache blend, chocolate as in milk, pen ink and smoke...last over a minute. Buy it if you can find it! @Bill Bender @Roman Sukley

Aug 6th, 2017Part 2 of the SQN New Year's Eve. Crushed flowers and kirsch-scented nose. Black cherries, blueberries with subtle earthy peppery notes. Velvety texture. Good acidity. Smooth tannins. Beautifully layered as are all of Manfred's wines. Lingering finish. Best showing to date for me. This wine's in a sweet spot right now.
