Young, but very drinkable. Lavender and leather on the nose. Soft fruit—black raspberries—on the front of the tongue. Medium tannic structure. Mineral high notes on the mid palate, with a long finish—and those mineral high notes keep vibrating at the back of the mouth, while a pleasant velvety smoothness kisses the back of my throat. I like this wine! I’m not sure why people are giving it lower ratings. Poor quality control? I’ll have to buy another bottle and see.

Follow up note: I left this in a decanter for about an hour and a half after my initial tasting, and this wine turned flat and bitter. So I guess it’s best drunk soon after decanting. I think this might explain the low ratings that other people gave it. Well, some wines are sort of ephemeral...
