This is a spectacular Pinot noir with a warm medium Ruby color and a pronounced and complex nose highlighting red cherry, red currant, black cherry, wild strawberry, dried orange peel, earthy forest floor and violet. Exquisite balance of flavor, alcohol and acidity on the palate with soft, velvet tannins and a long finish. There is a lot going on here and it’s all good. Excellent now, it will be even better in another couple of years as more tertiary character emerges.

Soter is Tony Soter's life-long study in viticulture and winegrowing. Settled at Mineral Springs Ranch in the Yamhill-Carlton District of the Willamette Valley. Aged for 12 months in 40% new French oak. A complex nose of ripe berry, sweet spice & dried red fruits with floral scents. On the palate if flavors of sweet cherry and strawberry, vanilla notes, savory acidity with smooth silky tannins. Lingering finish ending with mineral notes. Starting to drink well now.

Beautiful color. Tons of potential. I’d probably wait another 5-10 years.

I love 2012 and I really like Soter but this is not my favorite 2012. Very nice though. Cherry, blackberry and a buttery richness on the finish.

Very special 2013 vintage ...where the extremely hot summer and heavy rain actually balanced out the wine naturally ...amazing riper/redfruit but the balance of earth to fruit and oak really showcases winemakers ability to create and work in confluence w nature and still create a very special wine...awesome!! Go Cahill!!
