Super tart and refreshing. Lots of gooseberries. Wonderful on a hot day.

This wine has a combination of passionfruit, citrus and pineapple, definitely reminds me of tropical flavours!

Good to serve it with pasta and sea food dishes.

The Squealing Pig's Sauvignon Blanc from Switzerland - the first step.in understanding what type of white wine I like! This was £8.50 from ASDA with reasonable reviews and an appealing label.
On appearance, this was a clear, pale yellow with initial aroma is both fruity and floral with the expected Sauvignon Blanc bite. On the palate it's dry and gives notes of stone fruit like peach and gooseberry. Again, the acidity it quite prominent without being completely overpowering, this was improved by bringing the bottle out of the fridge and letting it warm to a little. I found this to not only soften the acidity but bring more roundness to the character, enhancing the floral note.
Definitely enjoyed this one closer to 10-12°C, a good start!
