I love the character of this vintage. Leaner and more focused than the 2014, which is also a remarkable wine. Violets, wild raspberry, black truffle, vanilla, star anise and a hint of dark chocolate. Excellent staying power with forceful but not blunt or overbearing tannins. Broad mouthfeel, yet buoyant acidity. Very, very delicious and expressive.

This was a baby. Definitely needs some time to mellow down the new oak. Awesome wine nonetheless.
