Unfamiliar with the Esmonin wines; bought a couple upon recommendations from a friend. Very surprised by this wine which was, for my palate anyhow, picked too ripe and exposed to too much oak, proffered by Dressner through Chambers St Wines?! Has the world gone mad? Has that telltale nutmeg aroma that dominates domestic pinot noir when überripe fruit interacts with new oak. Yesterday the gods were with me; today...nothing is going right. Blind I'd've bet the farm on Oregon pinot. Sadness.
