Really interesting funky wine. Not a textbook valpocella ripasso but still great. Dark cherry, blackberry, and smoke on the nose. Medium bodied, not as sweet as I’d expect for this style. Lots of licorice & cocoa. Finishes with a lingering cocoa note with lots of wood.
