Ok, I know the rating seems in the higher side, but this Super Tuscan outperforms expectations! There is a lot of smokey, leathery goodness, with subdued cherry and boysenberry taking a backseat. If you want an earthy, smokey wine with supple tannins and a lingering stoney finish with a hint of anise and dried oregano, then this is your wine. It paired magnificently with a slow roasted pork shoulder encased in a baked mustard and sage crust. $40?? It feels like a steal.
