Notions of 1st growth are all over this!
There is an uncommon density and purity of fruit on the nose. Spice box, oak and strawberries are evident. Palette is wonderful with texture and layers. The mouthfeel is plush and rich with cinnamon, cardamom and sandalwood. Finishes sweet - wonderful.

Very Bordeaux with an Argentinian twist? Delicious aromas of currants, plums, black truffle, violets, roasted coffee, cedar, and vanilla. Silky viscous texture with ripe dark fruit flavors, cherries, milk chocolate, licorice, with a long spicy vanilla finish. A full bodied wine with chewy and mouth drying tannins.

Nose overripe and over the hill.
Palate still drinkable.

Blind tasting, 2002 vintage--Ripe nose, thought Napa cab/Syrah blend. Minty, dark fruit. Big wine still on the palate, medium plus finish.

A little TCA detracts from what is otherwise a lovely wine.
