Terrazas de Los Andes
Reserva Mendoza Malbec
Mendoza, Cuyo, Argentina

Deep Ruby color with aromas of dark red fruits, spice and floral notes. On the palate flavors of black cherry and blackberry with licorice, black pepper and toasty oak. Firm tannins, lively acidity, medium finish ending with fruit, oak and savory spice.

Easy going, rather simple Argentinian malbec. The nose is almost reminiscent of a Cahors wine, with minerally notes on the nose: slate, crushed rocks, dark cherry juice, raspberries, some peppery touch, some spice. There is a lift to that nose. The palate is well made with a good acid drive, some width, some nice dark fruits all along, an almost milky, silky mouthfeel that is changing significantly in the rear, with some caressing tannins popping up and disrupting the wine for good and leaving a playful layer of joy over a moderately long finish with fruit, a bit of a savoury note and that silky, milky touch underneath. Cheap, easy going Argentinian malbec with a higher altitude twist to it.
