Deep gold with white-yellow highlights. Sauternes-like nose of honey and magnolia blossom. Full-bodied palate yields the same honey and magnolia adding navel orange, lemon rind, white peach, and almond. Medium minus acidity. Medium finish. This big white blend of Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, and white Rhône varieties is too heavy for a refreshing sipper, but a good pair for rich white wine fare like scallops, lobster Thermidor, or fruited salmon. Drink now.

Apr 25th, 2022The 17’ seems to have high percentage of Chard (I believe it’s normally around 30-35%) than the previous vintages I tasted. Stone fruits dominants the fruit profile and it feels more buttery, though aromatics and texture still shows some characters of the Rhone varieties. Quite nice still.

Mar 8th, 2020It's a blend, but Chardonnay is definitely dominant. Nice acidity and minerality up front, with a long structured finish of pear and spiced baked apple. Prominent oak and some nuttiness. Good with roasted chicken and welcoming Fall, but don't serve too cold. The 2017 vintage doesn't disappoint.
