Ripe black fruit here, and a hint of vanilla, but lots of earth as well, this 100% Shiraz is clearly made in a modern style – but on the other hand, it’s not too rich. The fruit is a little more restrained, possibly due the particular situation of these vineyards in the famed McLaren Vale. Whatever the cause, we find this little gem from down under drinks rather more like it’s northern hemisphere cousins from the Rhone valley, and for a bit less.
