Patriota Mendoza Malbec Bonarda

It is Tuesday night and I have a taste for some Argentine wine. I had just bought this blend of Malbec and Bonarda. Never having had Bonarda I thought this would be very interesting and I am not disappointed. I have found that I have had more hits than misses from Argentina. The aromas on this bottles are big fruit with lots of dark fruit, blackberry, blueberry, and stewed prunes. There is nice smokey oak with hints of vanilla. After enjoying the smells for awhile I couldn't wait to taste this puppy. The fruit comes at you as good fleshy dark fruits, blackberries black cherry, prunes, blueberries, and black currant. There is a wet soil component that leads to good acidity and smooth silky tannins. I think this has a good Medium + mouth feel. This has been a good and pleasant surprise.

Pretty solid at $18. Full bodied Malbec blend. Dark cherries and prunes.

Great balance with full body. Fruit and peppery. ann says fantastic.

Been drinking this bottle for the last three nights. First night was very fruity with earth and leather notes in the background. Tonight, the fruit (dark) has taken the back seat with leather and tobacco in the front. Finishes with a silky mouth feel, notes of licorice and a very nice complexity.

Reasonable price

At first it didn't sit well on my palette. But it grew on me. Acidic.
