Mentioned that I like natural wines and the captain suggested the trentangeli. Enjoyed it, tons of dark fruit to stand up to Carbone's seriously rich fare.

An Italian wine no doubt from beautiful Puglia Italy this DOC blend features the ancient Aglianico varietal well integrated with 20% Cabernet and 10% Syrah. The colour is ruby red with purple highlights, the aroma is one of wet earth, spice and a berry bouquet. Full bodied, meaty and slightly rough tannins it must be allowed to breathe first before you can fully enjoy it's pronounced floral, plum, black cherry and prune notes. Some may consider this extra dry wine to be a little hot maybe but I found it displays good persistence in its structure with a long smooth taste. It is aged on 60 gallon French / Hungarian oak then bottles for 8 months prior to release. I find this wine intriguing and would buy it again at this price point. Suggested with lamb and of course pizza. 14.5 Abl Enjoy
