Tournesol
Premiere Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Struggling to not give this one a 97. Another PNV stunner. Complex for sure. Poured from a bottle that could be used as a murder weapon, this wine was dominant from the start. Only continued to get better, but the nose of purple fruit, cinnamon spice, rhubarb, cola, and pepper was there starting six inches from the glass. The wine enters with a medium++ density, acidity, black and blue fruits mostly, the 'purple' nature of this bottle coming through more on the finish. The middle of this wine is a dark fruit core, spice cookie. Finish was long, dark fruit dominant, sweet tannin with mostly rounded edges but a brambly note to this one also was there. OH MAMA. In a blind tasting, I'm not sure I would have pegged this one. Was gonna try to save half of this one for tomorrow, but the bottle lasted less than an hour between the 2 of us!
