I don't know Bonarda all that well, having only tasted a couple dozen in my life. This is a wine of a very deep color. It has an intriguing big funky plum nose with hints of chocolate and blackberries almost like a very rustic Spanish Garnacha. The wine tastes very similar to the nose with fine tannins and pretty big acid. Drinkable enough if you like a funky barnyardy nose.
