Last of my 01, drinking much better than my other bottle. Leather and Caramel on the nose. Tannins are soft and supple yet present, love the bright acidity-gives it a youthful feel. I get a sweet element on the front of the palate...maybe cocoa dusted dates. Mid palate fills with smoke and a slight herbaceous flavor. Finish gives way to fruit cake, smoke and a drying effect. This was a redeemer.

Been waiting to open this. Soft and supple, still has that greenness to it. Fruit is gone. Black pepper and anise on the nose. Not much on the palate, charcoal and dust. Finish is there, full body with a spicy finish. Sad showing.

You ever have a wine that transcends you to a different place? This ain’t it! We hit this winery about ten years ago and had a great time tasting and we bought a couple of bottles. The fruit is absolutely gone-zo. I love Bordeaux style wines and the earth aspect but this was well dirt. Too bad

Wow. Very, very happy with this bottle. The flavors evolved over the course of the night. Bavette's was kind enough to decant for us. Never lost either the tannic edge or its acidity. Flavors went from perfume violets, blueberries and raspberries to more subdued currants, blueberry jam and minty cocoa. Loved the journey though.
