St. Émilion Grand Cru Red Bordeaux Blend

Needs time, still young but showing well

80/20 Merlot/Franc open for about 16hrs. Ready to go on the nose, and present/assertive on the palate.

I was hoping for more….

1hr+ decant. This was great, but did fade faster than expected so I’d drink up. Very complex nose and palate that can only be found in higher end Bordeaux’s. Great depth and long finish. Not sure if this is being produced any more, but if it is, I’m a buyer.

1hr+ decant. Maroon color on the pour but darkish red in the glass. Aged Bordeaux on the nose with cedar and floral elements. Palate reflects the same with dark cherries, tobacco, and anise. Medium plus depth and medium finish. Right in my wheelhouse!

1hr+ decant. Loved this! Dark red color with a high quality nose and finish. Tough to describe but it’s what you expected to smell and taste in a higher end Bordeaux. I sensed some Italian influence as the tannins were prominent. Paired nicely with ham and sweet potatoes. Merry Christmas!!

2011. Dances in your mouth. Long finish.
