Firm, concentrated, and persistent. Some earth and tar on the nose with black fruit and toast. well integrated and balanced despite its immense grip.

Saranty. 75 Merlot, 25 Franc. Lots of graphite, smoke, tar character, finishes aggressively dry. Austere but will shine in the right setting.

Started out overly citric and ruddy, but a little time in the glass and some pesto sausage and plum tomato pasta on the plate and the cabernet franc's herbaceous facets linked arms with the merlot jamminess to plump up the tar and licorice core.
