I love this wine. One of the first smaller Bordeaux I ever had. Nose is cocoa, plum, smoke and some faint cassis. Such a nice dusty earthiness. Really juicy, pure and engaging. Lovely complexity, freshness and a big structure. Bittersweet cocoa on the finish. Needs time and tannins a little drying. I’ll be back. Terrific length here. 9.2 to 9.3. The tannins are slowly now moving into fruit and the process is happening. This is a fantastic wine.

This is the wine of Jean-Claude Berrouet own estate. He’s former winemaker and Technical Director of Petrus and made 44 vintages of Petrus. Black currants, plum, earth, bay leaf, cedar wood, orange peel and a mineral finish. Fantastic value.
