Intense body, low acidity and well integrated oak, I loved this #vacqueyras - good with eggs and poultry #vinisud

Musky, peppery. Leather. A forest humidity. Woodsy.

Smooth operator, once again. Beautifully balanced fruit of plums with spice, acid, a leathered oaky quality.

Well made, well enjoyed.

Deep purple color, secondary garnet hues. Evidence of aging in the color. Nose has black and red fruit; fresh plum, dried prune, raspberry and blackberry preserves. Dark baking spices, such as cardamom, nutmeg, clove. Some Saddle leather and subtle smoked meat. Wet earth. Clay. Beautifully balanced on the palate. Strong tannins and medium finish. Vintage 2012. 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre. 14% ABV.

Nice, easy drinking Grenache blend. Much better after decanting for 20 minutes or so.
TW $29.74

Med body, low to med acidity, nice legs. Big oak bomb up front, but let breathe for 30 minutes or so totally smooths it out. Nose for some reason reminds me of that smell of an indoor pool back in high school. A lot of dark fruits, cherrys, plums with tiny hint of vanilla. Little earthy and chalky on the finish. Overall very enjoyable.

After an onslaught of young Bordeaux this was like a hot shower for the palate. Soft but not at all weak, the concentrated black fruit and dried fig notes are harmoniously balanced by acid. Long finish.
