The dark ruby '99 Vineyard 29 Cabernet Sauvignon 'Estate' was not the blockbuster I was expecting. The nose was mainly blackberry and licorice, but the flavors were quite angular and muddled with strong tannins overwhelming the fruit. The austere finish was long but not elegant. I just was anticipating much more bang for the buck.
