Weingut Beurer
Stettener Kieselsandstein Riesling
This was a beautiful riesling, but I do not prefer whites in general. It was dry as expected, which was a surprising characteristic that I appreciated.

Oct 2nd, 2017Going to go out on a limb and call Beurer the best Riesling value around. Dry, citrus fruit, pronounced acidity, great mineral structure that dominates. Old vines, meticulously tended to with biodynamic methods. Spontaneous fermentation with wild yeast, 14 months sur lie. Not necessarily a crowd pleaser, there is a slightly bitter undertone that I find enjoyable, but others might not. I'm in love, this does my hometown proud.
