Dark velvety red. Starts very closed and takes a while to open up. Still pretty subdued. Cooking spice, chocolate and bacon on the nose. Blackberries, vanilla and subtle licorice palate. Moderate tannins and mild acidity. Good but does not stand out for a 2009 Australian red. Works very well with steak.
