My opinion of this wine is better than the reviews I read. This is a very different flavor profile from American, west coast pinots. It has similar red fruit— cherries, blackberries, etc. — but the flavors are dried down, almost to the husk. Not fresh fruit. There’s also some bramble, dill, green pepper, stone, and ash. Plus just enough barnyard funk to be good. There’s moderate to strong acidity, and some medium tannins. It’s not all perfectly integrated, but it’s interesting, and a good value.
