Nose: slightly raisinated with dried cherry, dried currant, menthol, dill, oaky spice, and ETOH.
Palate: ripe fruit predominates with currant and cherry juice. A bit of chocolate and sweet oak on the end. An undercurrent of medium acidity and soft, supple tannins keep it from being cloying.
A ripe and tasty wine with enough structure and a deft hand with barrel aging keeps it from being cloying. Quite delicious with some slow cooked chuck roast.
