Savory and dark. Dried pork loin, tobacco, tomato paste and maybe some blackberry. Sneaky big tannins and medium-ish acid. No finish. Totally lacking freshness. Definitely drinking in a bruiser style much larger than the 12.5% abv would make you think. First night it was a spritzy disjointed baby. Tonight it is a beautifully pure Riesling with rocking acidity and moderately rich sweetness (definitely leaning toward Spatlese). Tangerine, sweet pear and hints of honey with slight herbal and mineral driven undertones. Wonderful clarity and totally delicious. This will only get better. — 8 years ago
650 bottles (!) produced. Totally unique, funky, herby red fruit driven Italian natty. Medium bodied, higher acid, red fruit, orange peel, dirty herbs and minty fresh funky forrest floor. Covered in cow pies. Completely exotic. For adventurous palates and open minds only. This wine would give Robert Parker nightmares. — 7 years ago
Seems caught between two styles and comes off a bit disjointed. This wants to be a leaner representation of Cali old vine zin, which I was stoked to try, but there was a weird confected note on the mid palate which threw the whole balance off. It would have been better off if it had leaned a little more in either direction. Either more medium bodied, slightly less confected and higher acid or a little higher octane. Simple red fruit, medium acid. Nothing herbaceous or savory. Short finish. Their Besson Grenache is superior in every way in this vintage. — 8 years ago

Fresh, clean, med/high acid, tart red savory fruit, fresh herbs, salty charcuterie and mint . A hint of bell pepper. Seriously good. — 7 years ago
Fresh and tropical. Moderate sweetness to balance rocking acidity. Apricot, tart citrus, honeyed ocean air, some herbal black pepper notes add interest and complexity to the bright fruit. Clean. Vibrant. Long. Will only get better. — 7 years ago

Simple, sweet, simple. Tastes cheap. Low acidity, no structure. There is a fruity purity that is nice, but a bit cloying. If I were tasting this blind I would call this mid level mass produced grocery store wine. It would probably be great for making into sangria. Suckling rated this 96 points? LOL. — 6 years ago
