Funky, Burgundian-esque version of Schioppettino. White pepper. Organic vineyard surrounded mostly by forest. Fantastic unique northern Italian red wine. — 5 years ago
80% Nerello Mascalese, 20% Nerello Cappuccio. Spontaneous fermentation with indigenous volcanic yeast. Aged 48 months in steel, 12 months in oak and 12 in bottle. Old vines. 750m above sea level. Sandy, mineral porous soil. Great aroma, long finish, nice funk factor. Wonderful Etna wine! Still a bit tight, will improve over the next 5+ years. — 6 years ago
Treiso zone of Barbaresco. White marl, clay-calcareous alternated with sand. Southeast exposure. Aged in large oaks, stainless steel and concrete vats for 1.5 years after harvest. Such an elegant Barbera, extremely aromatic boutique of rose, herbs and spices. Beautiful acidity balanced by a plum jammy finish. Delicious! — 6 years ago

Sangiovese from the Val d’Orcia hills. Dusty, dried red currants, eucalyptus and mint, licorice and violet, wild strawberries. Aged in Slavonian oaks barrels. Bright acidity and smooth tannins. Paired perfectly with a quick lamb ragu pasta with mint. — 5 years ago
