Everyday drinkable rosé. Reminds us of the “vins de la table” pichets of France. Watermelon rind and strawberry aromas. Med-long finish with a pleasant and balanced bitterness. — 6 years ago

What a difference a year makes! This is much more assertive than the 2016. It has a rich and long finish. Elements of rioe melon and floral, as well as the typical SB smell. I enjoyed it while Tom thought it had Chardonnay elements. — 6 years ago

A solid, middle of the road, reasonably priced garnacha. Would be a good choice for everyday drinking or a party in which you want to serve wine, but not break the budget. — 6 years ago

I admit. I had seen this one before but had stayed away bc of its “cutesy” bottle. But I finally bit the proverbial bullet. After prying off its cute but impractical glass “cork,” it turned out to be a drinkable, everyday rosé. Floral, watermelon. Not stunning. Met my expectations. — 6 years ago

Paso Robles Petite Sirah 2015

2015: Put on your seatbelts, wine lovers! This has many of the classic Petite Sirah qualities: big, bold, and full-bodied. Smells of rich black fruits, black cherry. Additional smells include mossy, wet-forest, vanilla, and tobacco. It’s high alcohol causes a slight burning on the nostrils...interesting and enjoyable! Flavors mirror smells, with a hint of something vegetal on the long-lasting finish. Mouth tingling (literally!). Rich tannins but they are moderated and well-balanced. in summary, a great Petite Sirah at a great price! — 6 years ago

Caveat: this is the first Torrontés I’ve ever had. It is intensely fruity and floral. Lychee, pear, yellow apple, pineapple, guava, and citrus for fruit. Honeysuckle and magnolia for flowers. Tastes much sweeter than actually is. Long finish which is somewhat reminiscent of Chardonnay; perhaps because aged in French barrels? This was an interesting experience, but one that I feel no need to repeat. — 6 years ago
