This cab sauv was very full bodied, with a deep black center and a thick violet meniscus. Jammy cherries and blackberries with flavors of vanilla, old leather, and tobacco. The smell and taste feel rich and luxurious, while the price ($8.99 at Safeway) makes it even more of a knockout. The neat bottle design is a plus. I am biased, because the 2011 vintage is an absolute favorite of mine. This is a great wine, though it didn't get me quite as excited as the prior vintage did. Peppery and earthy, just as I like my Pinot to be. — 10 years ago
