Winemaker at Azari Vineyards
Loads of bright tobacco with some fruit and berry notes. Holding good color and enough tannin to provide texture that this wine holds the best elements of its youth but the maturity of a 2001. — 9 years ago
Holy crap. Layers upon layers upon layers of sexy sexy earth and spice tones, clove, nutmeg, etc... with lots of great black liquorice and just enough pyrazine to tell you it's a cab. Powerful, but not abrasive on the palate with velvety tannins and gentle acidity balancing the richness. This is a new addition to my short-list of best wines I've ever had. — 9 years ago
Lots of rust and dried meat on the nose with a obvious void of tannin and mid-palate. Acidity is a little present what is an otherwise watery palate experience. — 9 years ago
A cool wine. Bright, still fresh with lots of lemon sherbet, lemon zest and lime candy as well a bright acid and decent body. — 9 years ago
Raspberry, rhubarb, clove, baking spices and black pepper with plenty of richness and velvety tannins — 9 years ago
This is a cool wine. Rich mid-palate, gentle tannins and a little heat, but lots of cocoa, clove, bay leaf and nutmeg on the nose. The herbal notes add a fun twist to the rich cab trope. — 9 years ago
Pretty damn solid for the price. Fleshy, great acidity. Great fruit. — 9 years ago
Great for the price. Lots of biscuit and minerality with a touch of creaminess and a nice acidity. — 9 years ago
