Smokey, with a hint of cherries, strawberry jam, and vanilla. A little less “earthy” and a little softer than other vintages I have had by this producer. — 24 days ago
An excellent wine. Paired beautifully with a steak. Tasted oak, tobacco, blackberry, and balsamic. Very satisfying finish. A lovely gift from great friends. — a month ago
A delicious wine for a cold Winter’s evening. Decanted for about four hours. Fabulous bouquet. Full-bodied. Blackberries and dark chocolate predominate. — 14 days ago
A delightful, refreshing wine. Pear, apricot, butter, and almond. Medium-bodied. — a month ago
Decanted for about nine hours. Fresh raspberries, cherries, and a bit of mushrooms. Very elegant. Full-bodied, but not quite as powerful as other Barolos I’ve had over the years. — a month ago
Rich and luscious. Blackberries, cocoa, and a hint of pepper. Fabulous bouquet and a satisfying finish. — a month ago
I love Dakota Shy wines, and this is an excellent one. Decanted for several hours. Inky dark purple. Full-bodied, rich, and complex. Dark chocolate, plums, cassis, and a hint of vanilla. Long finish. Fabulous now, but still has a lot of cellaring potential. — 22 days ago
I see that I rated this wine in September 2022. I am sticking with that rating. A stunningly delicious wine. A nice Christmas Eve treat. — a month ago
Rated this wine a 9.0 in 2021. Opened a magnum last night and let it breathe for several hours. Noticeably improved, so I am upping the score. — a month ago
