Pale cloudy gold,
Medium nose, apple, pear
Dry, high acid, medium bodied, slightly dense waxy texture, pommaceous, golden fruit, salt, very long finish with a slightly bitter bite — 3 years ago
Fascinating. Grenache gris and blanc + carignan gris and blanc. Pronounced nose. Smokiness, salt, gentle fishiness; butteriness, ginger, pale apricot and honey dew melon pit as it opens up. Dry, high acid, medium to high alcohol, full body, textured, pronounced but delicate flavour intensity, very long finish. Very saline which combined with acid creates an lovely grip. Silvery buttery smoky deep drive light but pronounced. Lemony Melony. Slightly sweet. — 2 years ago
Deep, dark amber.
Medium nose.
Sweet (not exceedingly so), tangy, smooth, well-balanced alcohol, fabulously long finish.
Orange, caramel, mocha, chocolate, fig, stewed plum, raisins, smoky almonds.
Rich, flavoursome, refined. Drinks like a Madeira with no Madeira greenness, much less searing acidity. Much softer. — 3 years ago
Deep gold
Pronounced nose. Sherry like. Nutty, golden stone fruit, yeasty. Green - guava.
Dry, high acid, high alcohol, medium plus body, gently tannic grip, salty, nuts, golden fruit, round effect but not rounded, very long finish. Amazing — 3 years ago
Kola Balogun
Fine. Rather pale and tart and thin, I think, though it does soften with time in the glass and has real pale red fruit and soft Cab Franc green pepperiness. Nicely done but not for me. — 2 years ago
