This wine has aromas of dark fruit such as blackberry, blueberry, & cherry with hints of minty floral & mocha at the background. At first tast it did not mirror the nose. It has an austere acidity for a red which I believe is overpowering the tannins or lack of tannins. It does have a cliff edge effect on the fruits & hollow in a way. It does have a grapey finish which I don't like. The body is light & mellow but does have a smooth finish. Overall this wine is odd & has too much acidity for me to enjoy & is lacking something. — 10 years ago
This wines aroma has top notes of raspberry and blackberry with a spicy earthy base note. It is slightly sweet yet zesty on the palate. The tannins are structured and is firm at first but finishes silky. This wine does leave an earthy and slightly leather aftertaste, with a slightly astringent feel on the palate. Overall this wine has a short light bodied finish but with a concentrated yet slightly hollow first impression. — 10 years ago
This wine has aromas of blackberry, cherry & plums, with a vanilla & spice that is mild & pleasant. I do smell hints of an oaky tobacco & maybe chocolate as well. At first taste it had a concentrated & fruit forward of a spicy oaky cherry with a blackberry finish. Finish was not as heavy as Lodi county version but complex. Acidity is balanced with gripping tannins, but finishes smooth. This medium bodied wine flavors will keep you occupied from start to finish. Overall another great zin from Ravens wood. — 10 years ago
This wine has prominent aromas of vanilla bean and chocolate top notes and has an smokey oaky sweet berry base note. At first kiss it has a very rich sweet fruit forward of ripe jammy berries and plums. Then the fruits revealed hints of an oaky and minerally taste creating a small symphony on your taste buds. The acidity and tannins are almost balanced, but the chewy tannins do linger throughout finish. The acidity is fresh and lively but does have a bold and grippy tannin that ends with a quite long finish. Overall this full bodied wine did a pretty good job blending the county regions, a nice zin for $15 — 10 years ago
This wine has aromas of dark fruit, providing blackberry, plums, and cherry as top notes, with an oaky licorice midnote. All followed by a sweet and spicy tobacco and chocolate base notes. At first taste it has a strong hit of oaky cherry flavors followed by a smooth sweet blueberry finish that lingers on your palate. Acidity is lively at first sip, yet balances and integrates well with the tannins, like they were meant to be. The tannins are powerful yet with a structured finish, which all leads to a medium to full bodied wine. Overall this wine is so far one of my favorite zins for under $15. — 10 years ago
This wine has aromas of ripe berries, with hints of floral, spicy, eucalyptus notes. At first taste this wine is clean, smooth & rounded. At first I taste berries complimented with a rich oaky smoke bacon, with a spicy floral eucalyptus finish. It taste quite fresh, as the sweetness and acidity do compliment each other creating a balanced overall tasting. This wine is full bodied yet still has finesse at near finish. Overall this is a good Cab for its price, & will definetly recommend it to try. — 10 years ago
Very Juicy Fruit Forward, Silky and Soft with fresh ripe, jam like fruit flavors. It coats the palate with a light buttery slightly oily viscous feeling. It has a dark fruit, berry primarly at first taste, with a fresh soft and smooth, yet sweet and pleasant tannins with a wet finish. It is a mellow opulent bodied wine.
Overall it's a alright wine for its value. — 10 years ago

This wine is a very easy drinking zin. It has spicy aromas of cherry and blackberry with a subtle smell of vanilla and creamy chocolate. At first it taste like a medium bodied jammy wine, with black cherry being prominent. The wine has a soft, pleasant, and smooth overall tasting with a subtle peppery blueberry finish. It is not complex in any way but simple. Overall it is an easy to drink zin, something you could indulge rather than speculate. — 10 years ago
