Very nice red for September, known as the only decent Hungarian table wine. Personally I've loved it since I was in college (when it was all I could afford). Smells like mineral all the way; think slate. Tastes like black pepper and had a smooth, dry finish. The color is unremarkable *shrug* it's red. Pairs exceptionally with cold Bon Chon chicken! The meat heightens the austerity of the wine. — 9 years ago
This is a beautifully contradictory red wine. First off, you serve it chilled. It smells like honeysuckle that's been in the fridge, tastes like fizzy blackberries that still have trace amounts of soil on them, and looks like the color of a dress I once wore to see "Sugar Ray" play in college. A wonderful after-work treat. Especially when the bartender hugs you before you get in the door. — 9 years ago
Looks like viscous, golden, motor-oil. Smells like sugar frosted black coffee grounds. Tastes like light - bulb filament and buttercream. Sweet, sweet madeira how I live thee. *hiccup* This special reserve bual reminds me of a jungle cat with a topaz collar. *hiccup* Yeah that'll do.... — 9 years ago

It's a tad too sweet for me frankly but it pairs nicely with curried shrimp and crushed peanuts. It smells like marshmallows, tastes like flat apple skins, and the color reminds me of a Mr. Sketch marker. Imbibing my last vintage and watching Rita Hayworth in "Cover Girl." (One last blissful chow - down before half marathon training.) "She's kind of a funny kid...she's sore because she's got diamonds in her feet...." — 9 years ago
