2020 vintage tasted in 2024. Dark ruby, semi-translucent. Light, tart aroma. Some yeasty aroma at first, which also comes through on the finish. The flavor is tart raspberries, a touch of lime, grape skin. Some subtle sweetness, but not a sweet wine overall. Strong tannins and quite acidic. The body is light/watery which I don't care for. Aroma of violets and purple flowers. Medium body, almost creamy. Some rich leathery notes with bright acidity shining through. The finish evolves to liquorice. Decent on its own but complements food fantastically. Perhaps a bit overpriced at $24. — 4 years ago

Tasty alone and refreshing with food, a bold and uncomplicated rioja. A burst of tart raspberries at first, not too sweet, fading to a juicy, lingering finish. The texture is medium-thin but with a creamy softness. Excellent value. — 7 months ago

Didn't care for this at all. An unpleasant, dirt-like smell on the nose. The palate offers dark cherries but quickly fades to a sickening acidity. Usually I'll at least finish a bottle even if it's not my favorite, but I had to dump this one. — 4 years ago

Very enjoyable, friendly and elegant wine for any time. Silky texture, slightly thin. Balanced acidity. Tart fresh cherries. An herbal note that becomes licorice-like in the aftertaste. Would buy again without hesitation. — 4 years ago

Very dark purple and opaque in the glass. Nose has tart fruit, some yeast, and a slightly harsh alcohol effect. Tastes of tart berries with a faint but off-putting balsamic vinegar note. Round and soft on the palate despite being light-to-medium bodied. Drinkable but with a few flaws that will keep me from buying again. — 5 years ago

Very very sweet, like Welch's grape juice mixed with Communion wine. Has the color and consistency of cherry juice diluted 50%. There's some tangy bright acidity, and some of the classic nutty, raisiny quality of port. It's not bad, but there's much better in the same price range. — 3 years ago

Wasn't expecting to enjoy this so much. Immediately after opening, it's bursting with sweet cherries and ripe plums, sweet but not in a cloying way. After resting and chilling a bit, the sweetness is toned down and balanced by tannic sour cherry skin and some savory grill char. Some stoney sharpness as well.
The color is deep dark red and the body is medium-light.
Doesn't have tons of depth or complexity but still highly enjoyable both alone and with food. Excellent value! — 4 years ago

First time trying a sherry aged wine and I enjoyed it. You can certainly taste the sherry sweetness. The main flavor note is raspberry jam. A bit of acidity and moderate tannins give structure. Medium-light body. A solid red at this price. — 5 years ago
