E. Guigal
Côtes du Rhône Red Rhône Blend
From the excellent 2016 Rhone vintage. Fuller than you usually expect from a Guigal CdR. Blackberry from the Syrah and raspberry from the Grenache with savoury overtones. So consistent for the 100’s of thousands of bottles that they make. A regular purchase annually for me.

Jan 29th, 2022A blend of 50% Syrah, 40% Grenache & 10% Mourvèdre with pleasing aromas of berries and spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry and cherry with smoke and savory spice. Long finish, spicy tannins ending with earthy herbs. Great value, tasting well now.

Oct 19th, 2021Dark and inviting, this is another great showing for Guigal’s multi-million bottle basic Côtes du Rhône. The generous nose comes across very southern Rhône-like, with aromas of blackberry, liquorice, lavender and fresh tar, while the palate adds flavours of plum and smoked bacon, with a spicy finish. This really is remarkably good stuff for the money.

Jun 20th, 2021A tasty, go to, great value Rhone. I bought a case that has been serving us well throughout social isolation. Down to last couple!
