A great wine for sure but somewhat surprised by the double 100pt ratings. Excellent fruited nose. Well structured with ripe dark fruit - casks, blackberry, stewed plums, great minerality, softened yet grippy tannins and solid acidic backbone. Lots of finesse. Nice finish. Will be interesting to watch this evolve. — a month ago
Ripe, bright, lovely nose. Wow, pnp and drinking amazing. Ripe, lush, black and blueberries, crème de cassis, blueberry pie, graphite, baking spices, violets. Absolutely gorgeous mouthfeel - silky smooth, bright and soft tannins, wonderfully balanced! Medium + finish. Always been impressed with Corison’s Kronos bottlings but this ‘19 might be the best! — a month ago
Lovely nose, not as floral as expected. Incredible structure, solid acidic backbone, well integrated ripe fruit and supple tannins. Lovely wine at a nice point in its life. — 7 days ago
Always prefer the Howell Mountain, but the Dunn Napa Valley I consider to be a great value, especially at the price these were a few years ago. Great fruit - black and red, minerality, graphite, pencil shavings, black licorice, great structure, nice finish. Solid all around and very nice for a ‘17. — 21 days ago
Tightly wound, so give it time! Black currant, plum pudding, wild blueberries, wood smoke, graphite, lead pencil. Intense quality, firm yet softened tannins, acidity high. Nice finish. Drinking well now with decant but many many years ahead for this wine. In fact I would bet another 5-10 years will do wonders to soften it and become more expressive. High expectations for next time. — a month ago
It’s been 16 months since last bottle of this Gargiulo G Major 7. One of my early Napa favorites. Fruit is ripe and bountiful, dark red and black. Very nicely balanced, acidity is very much holding its own, tannins are soft yet still structured. Gravely, vanilla, licorice, pencil shavings. Nice finish. Opens up nicely in the glass. — 2 months ago
Once again, drinking very well now. Half hour decant and it’s good to go. Stewed plums, iron, black cherry nose. Black and red fruit, softened yet brooding tannins, pipe tobacco, wet stone, incredibly structured, and what a nice finish. Very enjoyable! — 20 days ago
Decided to open up my first bottle of the ‘16s. Definitely required at least an hour decant, then it really was enjoyable. Very ripe black and dark red fruit, tannins light and chalky, perhaps a bit off balance at this point, at least early in the bottle. Day two this really resolved nicely. Wonderfully long finish. Bottle time should be kind to this vintage. — 23 days ago
Lovely violet and blackberry nose. Incredible balance of power, finesse and structure. Ripe black and blue fruit, violet, wet stone. Great silky texture. Drinking very nicely now on open, tremendously with an hour decant, and has many many years ahead of it. Soft and silky finish. — 2 months ago

BlackBerry jam nose. Needs a nice decant at this stage. Tannins softened and luscious, nice acidity, ripe black fruit, licorice, tobacco. Nice finish. Gonna let my other bottles sit for a couple years. Great wine but I think it needs more time to evolve and open up. — 2 days ago
