Nose of ripe blackberry. Ripe blackberry, plum, hints of pepper, green pepper, vanilla. Very nice mouthfeel, tannins softened yet powerful, well balanced acidity. Medium finish. Very approachable, a lighter Napa cab, very well balanced with just ripe dark fruit, medium plush tannins, med acidity. Drinking very well. Really enjoyable. Christmas Eve dinner with ribeye steak. What a wine! Lovely aromatic of ripe blue fruit, crushed stone, leather baseball gloves. Almost black color. About as perfect a wine as I have had. Blue and black ripe fruit, softened edges but powerful tannins. Perfectly matched acidity. Structured brilliantly. Graphite, stone, hint of menthol, licorice. Nice medium + finish. Perfect wine yet still so youthful, many, many years left. Will wait a few years before opening another bottle. — a month ago

Excited to open this first bottle. A bit tight on opening, but 45 min later really opens up. Fruit is sweetly ripe, tannins soft and a bit chalky and perfectly integrated. Acidity and alcohol also really in line. Dark fruit, graphite, leather, pipe tobacco. Really nice and drinking very well with a short decant. — a month ago

My last bottle of the 13s. It has been about 4 years, and this wine has now hit its stride. In my previous notes the wine was unbalanced. Now, with more age, and a 45 min decant, the wine is wonderfully balanced. Big ripe dark fruit, softened yet still powerful tannins, well matched acidity. Great mouthfeel and nice finish. Has been nice to see a wine through the years really develop. — a month ago

Wine of the night! Just barely. Two great wines over steak dinner. Black and blue fruit shine with a juicy scent. Perfectly balanced. Acidity just right med +. Tannins are soft yet powerful giving it a more defined mouthfeel. Nice finish. A near perfect wine and definitely one of the best 2017 Napa cabs I’ve had. — 2 months ago
