2019 Took some time to open but good nose and ruby colour excellent structure in mouth with good balance of berry flavours acidity and tannins
Had at a new Italian restaurant called Civico 47 which used to be Lucio’s for 35 odd years, old Lucio would be happy it’s still a high quality Italian restaurant.Just announced as WS wine no. 24 in 2024 top 100 — 5 days ago
No notes, opened too early but clearly has a long way to go.
However great Burgundy Pinot Noir and have a few more to see how it develops. — 24 days ago
I preferred Mt Pleasant much better under McWilliams ownership, single vineyard expressions are not as clear cut as they used to be.
1946 Rosehill not as distinct as it used to be.
Sill one on the Hunter’s better wines — a month ago
Intense Aussie mouth filling Cab Sauvignon deep ruby colour and fabulous fruit package with tannins and acidity and lingering flavours this is a top McLaren Vale wine which has ageing potential. Very moorish in it’s youth 😃 — a day ago
Nice floral and berry scents on the nose, medium bodied with fruit and acidity balance and silky tannins
Should develop and age well — 22 days ago
A Bordeaux blend, with Cabernet Franc as its foundation It is a blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Petit Verdot and Merlot.
Almost opaque with ruby edge in glass and mouth filling. Both rich and elegant with mulberry cigar and graphite hints. Well structured tannins and a delight.
Decanted and wine evolved over next hour or so.
Good stuff 👍

A change in style from previous Blackwell’s with little oak showing and trying to produce less oaky SA Shiraz, a much welcomed change, but it still has great fruit and structure, delicious on nose and palate.
Long finish.
Bravo to the winemaker for this new direction for a classic Australian Shiraz — 5 days ago
At 10 years old this Pinotage is hitting its stride, no mustiest on the nose clear and bright garnet in the glass with rich berry flavours on the palate. Fruit and acidity as well as alcohol balance.
A great expression of what South Africa does very well and Kanonkop always delivers. Terrific wine and has at least another 6 years or more to fully mature. — 18 days ago
Plenty of personality on the nose, inviting and welcoming. Clean and fresh in the mouth and has very good balance and is pleasurable. Integrated and silky tannins give depth and lingering finish. Liked it a lot. — a month ago

Ticks all the right boxes dry, acidic, low alc and citrus on nose and palate, hint of kerosene. James Suckling awarded 93 pts and it achieved international wine challenge trophy. Another outstanding NZ Riesling — a day ago
