Some oxidation brought this down from 9.7 or 9.8. Decanting opened it but did not increase the ox. Last bottle, some were like this one, some were near perfection. Suggest drink now. — 5 years ago
Second bottle in our Dominus vertical from ‘01 to ‘13 at Formento. This was not as great as the ‘01, but clearly favored over the ‘03 and ‘04 in the first flight. One of our favorites of the tasting. — 5 years ago
In a double blind flight of Aussie Shiraz. No surprise that this was near the top. Our group called Oz Shiraz immediately on the flight. This was fresh and youthful, though fully mature. — 5 years ago
Small winery we visited a couple of years ago. They were hosts to a few of the attendees at the International Pinot Fest in McMinnville. Nice folks and really good wines. Recommend you try them. — 5 years ago
Consistent with previous. Well constructed. Coming in to prime time. Lots of red and dark fruit but well tamed and harmonious. — 5 years ago
Top of a double blind flight of French Syrahs. Oh, so good. — 5 years ago

Opened but not decanted about 40 minutes before pouring. Somewhat muted nose. Bright ruby color. Elegant, sophisticated and well structured. This showed its Pedegree but also admitted to being not from a stellar vintage. Not a lot of fruit but still a fine wine. — 5 years ago

Enjoyed at Zoom virtual vertical with Long Shadows owners and winemakers (and over 50 others). Made the wine even better. Small percentages of Cab and Petite Verdot add to the depth and complexity of the over 80% Merlot. Soft tannins, berries and hints of the oak tanks used, leave a lingering finish. This is very approachable now but will continue to improve. — 5 years ago
