A pleasant surprise on a Wednesday night. The Sicilian wine was $12 and quite plant with a spicy pasta dish. There is unmistakable dark fruit and figs with a nice fruity finish. The wine is slightly deficient in structure and tannins but a great value overall. Enjoyed this at 55-60 F — 9 years ago
Started off savory, medium bodied, with distinct mineral aroma. Almost a beef like mouth feel on the finish. Later evolved to brighter red currant with lovely structure. Nice indeed. — 9 years ago
This is classic Italian in terms of the tannins and earthy mouth fell on the finish. Nice wine with predominant of savory and earthy notes. green olives, spices, pencil shavings, and slightly ripe strawberries. Holds up to a spicy pasta dish really well. A little overpriced. — 9 years ago
From Darioush. As expected, well integrated oak and luscious dark fruit. Some leather too on the nose. — 9 years ago
Dark velvet in color. On the nose, distinct forest floor and fall leaves dark and blue fruits, limestone even. Nicely structured palate. To me, blackberry, spices and tobacco predominates with well integrated tannins. — 9 years ago
Enjoyed this fine value wine on a Monday night with spicy meatballs and sweet potatoes. Medium body with some hints of dark fruit, mineral, spice, and savory notes. Medium tannines and fairly short finish but very enjoyable. Superb value in my mind. — 9 years ago
