The elevated (but not high) acidity and tannin of this wine allow for the nice complex evolution of flavors over a long finish; dark ripe fruits like plum make way for tobacco and dark chocolate, a touch of raisination give this wine a luscious quality that is so at home here in Italy. — 8 years ago

Mouth watering acidity perfectly balances the sweetness of this wine pushing those golden apple and honey flavors to the fore. Clean minerality on the finish. Chill the wine and then chill drinking it. — 8 years ago

Nice, fresh dark fruit and secondary tobacco notes with a touch of heat on the finish. I tend to prefer a bit more tannin and acidity in my Italian reds but this is great value and really approachable. — 8 years ago
