The elevated (but not high) acidity and tannin of this wine allow for the nice complex evolution of flavors over a long finish; dark ripe fruits like plum make way for tobacco and dark chocolate, a touch of raisination give this wine a luscious quality that is so at home here in Italy. — 9 years ago

Nice, fresh dark fruit and secondary tobacco notes with a touch of heat on the finish. I tend to prefer a bit more tannin and acidity in my Italian reds but this is great value and really approachable. — 9 years ago
