Very enjoyable. PnP and paired with Caesar salad with shrimp. Viscous mouthfeel with light petrol on the nose. Lemon oil with a long finish. Much better than we expected after reading previous notes. Drink now or hold. — 6 years ago

Drank at Yardbird in Las Vegas. Nice companion to fried chicken. Fresh, crisp, acidic, with a clean finish. Melon and grapefruit. Nicely done. — 8 years ago

Briefly decanted, strong bouquet. High toned with prominent cherry elements, this took a long time to open up. Still some gritty tannins. This wine has a lot of life left and lots of potential. Recommend checking back in 2-3 years, but this may not hit its stride for a long time. — 8 years ago

Decanted. About an hour in, it started to open up with faint licorice and spice. First sip brought dark cherry, a bit on the forward side. Not much tannin, with a silky finish. This drank very well, but I will wait (if I can!) a few more years to see what develops. Well done. — 8 years ago

I don’t like wines like this much anymore as my palate has shifted to more old world style wines. This is definitely new world. Decanted briefly. Dark purple with a sweet bouquet of charred rustic oak and blueberry compote. On the palate, bursting with smoked blueberry with a silky finish and fine tannins. This wine is BIG and it’s well made. Finish is long, and it appears to have many years ahead of it given the powerful fruit and still integrating oak. If you’re into these wines, you’ll be well rewarded. Nice as a cocktail wine...not sure what I’d pair this with (a stew?). — 6 years ago

Cedar, dark fruit, chocolate, coffee. Good long finish. Lots of stuffing and I think many years to go. Some tannins, but worth opening now if you have more than one bottle. Recommend 2+ hour decant. — 8 years ago

Dark, inky red. None of the Draper perfume I've come to expect but a nice bouquet nonetheless. Full mouthfeel, well balanced, with some medium tannins, with a long finish. Great showing which should continue to drink well for many years. — 8 years ago

Opened another bottle of this last night amongst several other wines. This wine was head and shoulders better than the other reds we had. Great zin characteristics, some spice, and a little complex with several other flavors at play. Kicking myself that I didn't load up on the 2016s that just released (I did buy the SVDs!) as this has to be one of the top QPRs in the wine world. Enjoy now or let it sit...should drink well for several more years. — 8 years ago

Vigorously decanted. Deep yellow, lemon oil on the nose, lemon tart with polished corners, and a thirty second finish. Just lovely and well worth the wait. Drinking well now, but this should show strong for several more years. — 8 years ago

Big Pinot with lots of fruit. Some spice on the nose and then the fruit hits. Well knit and finishes nicely wothout being overt. I tend to like my pinots a little less forward, but this one is a crowd pleaser and should drink well for several more years. — 8 years ago
